Job Description:

The successful candidate will support the company, users and affiliated entities in their use of the EZ-CAP suite and accompanying ecosystem of enterprise applications. Daily, the candidate is responsible for receiving and managing support requests, reporting and resolving user issues, performing or coordinating the performance of foundational table builds, configuration or coordinating the configuration of the EZ-CAP environment, and testing and implementing minor and major releases.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the SQL Server relational database management system the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server systems and, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our enterprise applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, including SQL programming, Datawarehouseing, report development as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs tasks associated with the configuration and maintenance of the EZ-CAP solution. Tasks include maintaining foundational tables and sets, maintaining configurable environment settings, maintaining user security profiles, and upgrading the software according to Citra’s release documentation.
  • Acts as liaison with third-party vendors for problem resolutions, system modifications and enhancements, upgrades and on-going maintenance for software applications and monitors them for optimal performance.
  • Participates in meetings, special workgroups, and ad-hoc conference calls as needed.
  • Listens well to others and shares ideas in a constructive manner.
  • Supports and maintains enterprise systems including IDM, Symkey, Virtual Examiner, Virtual Auth, Cozeva, Codelink, Intellisoft, Datawing Software, Medventive, Enablesoft and Crystal reports.
  • Participates in development of test plans, testing, training, deployment and support of new development or business system processes.
  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Creates and maintains standards for SQL Server database administration that supports the use of optimal database server resources and performance.
  • Creates and maintains processes and procedures to minimize any potential downtime scenarios.

  • Facilitates server-side database development when needed.
  • Implements automated database maintenance plans and backup routines using standard methodologies.
  • Monitors database/ application growth and server resources to ensure optimum performance and availability.
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively to operate in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Provides accurate status updates to management peers and staff.
  • Routinely evaluates/ implements improved methods or processes for administering and maintaining databases and servers.
  • Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse and analytics architecture to meet the company’s business analysis and reporting needs.
  • Independently analyze and troubleshoot minor to major problems on an as-needed basis – often requiring time sensitive response and pro-active communication to different groups within the organization
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
  • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Serves as the principal resource, providing technical mentorship and cross training to other peers and team members as needed.

Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • This position requires a background in health care with demonstrated hands-on Ezcap administration experience.
  • 7+ years demonstrated experience as an operational DBA on the Microsoft SQL Server platform
  • 7+ years of SQL demonstrated Server experience writing system specifications, expert knowledge in SQL (i.e. queries, index and DB I/O performance tuning, tables, forms, stored procedures and, SQL coding and reports)
  • 5+ years of experience SQL Data Warehouse and reporting is required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years experience in Crystal Reports for SQL server.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to complete complex tasks with little supervision.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills; able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work well independently and as a team player
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must

Education/Course(s)/Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with a concentration in information systems or business, or equivalent experience required.
