The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Transformation Architect to join us. In this role, you will become part of a team that develops strategy for digital transformation through DevOps adoption at an organizational scale. To achieve this goal, you and your associates will use a variety of modern application development practices, along with emerging technologies from the communities of open source. You will join a team of subject matter experts who co-create innovative software solutions using emerging technology and modern software design methods. You will be responsible for teaming with customers and partners to accelerate their application development project or infrastructure deployment and to teach them new ways of working together to deliver business value and new capabilities. As you do so, you will create infectious enthusiasm for building great software using the principles of an open source culture. This is a remote position; successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Team with our customers to lead the design and implementation of application prototypes, using modern application development practices and open source emerging technologies, covering domains like microservices, API management, web-scale architectures, DevOps engineering and application delivery, agile methodologies and ceremonies, container-based continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD), cloud automation, hybrid cloud adoption, and everything-as-code, including infrastructure, configuration, and documentation
Create measurable hypotheses tied to business value, and design a solution that tests these hypotheses to help our customers quickly realize their business goals
Constantly learn about new technologies and innovations
Become a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them achieve business success in an ever-changing technology landscape
Use your critical thinking skills to tackle tough problems in an innovative way
Travel to customer locations (25% to 75%)
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container tools
Experience working with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Experience leading successful modern software development projects or infrastructure deployments in public sector settings
Experience and comfort facilitating software design or infrastructure architecture ideation sessions to C-level executives and chief architects
Ability to perform customer-facing activities in a fast-paced environment with short timeframes
Working knowledge of design patterns applicable to modern software development
Applied knowledge of working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams
Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with open source communities
Experience with the design, development, testing and deployment of large, distributed applications
Solid object-oriented skills and applied knowledge of software design patterns
Applied knowledge of modern software delivery methods like TDD, BDD, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD)
Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills
Ability to study on your own and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
Passion for open source software
Willingness to travel from 25% up to 75%
Cleared up to Top Secret, or clearable
