Position Overview
As an Analyst in the Compensation Department, you are responsible for analytical support in the areas of salaries, incentives, and recognition. The support is generally provided to the Compensation & Benefits team for the Americas region with a main focus on the USA Smart Infrastructure, Digital Industry, and Mobility business units.
In this role you will provide the necessary details and data support for designing pay programs, and for making pay decisions at the employee, department, business unit and division levels.
You will support the Siemens Americas Compensation leadership team, which functionally reports to the global Comp & Ben function.
What are your responsibilities?
Overall business and HR facing support providing compensation and rewards related analysis, insights, consulting recommendations, market research, benchmarking, and compliance within applicable compensation related legal environment at both state and federal level.
Salaries
Support salary planning annual processes in the Americas countries, including data validation, setup of manager worksheets for the annual salary planning process, tracking of the process, reporting on interim results for divisions and country leadership.
Report on off cycle salary increases, running reports from the HRIT source, Oracle Fusion, and running databases to develop reports for division review/discussion.
Assist in analyzing market data and its impact on local salary range minimums/midpoints/maximums and on assignment of jobs to the appropriate range within the grade structure. Assist in reporting and explaining the results of this study to the broader Compensation team.
Support special market benchmarking requests, partnering with our specialists in our Market Intelligence team. This may include discussing the job/jobs with the HR contact or Compensation team member, researching data, summarizing, and providing a report.
Assist the Market Intelligence team in survey participation, submitting Siemens job data to consulting firms.
Run reports/data lists of job codes/job titles in our global job architecture GRIP (Global Remuneration Infrastructure Program); partner with Compensation team to map employees to new job codes; submit
Research of comp trends, comp data (i.e., benchmarking of salary trends, incentive trends, for a country in the Americas region, or within an industry)
Incentives and recognition
Run reports and summarize impact of our Americas Recognition program – potentially looking at usage, spend, trends by business unit/department, and responding to specific data inquiries.
Support Incentive lead with data audits, bonus setup, bonus calculations. May support incentive accrual reporting to finance.
Prepare payroll files for submission of bonus amounts.
General compensation
Use tools and systems (e.g., Talent Reward benchmarking tool, Oracle Fusion, Workday, SuccessFactors salary planning module, Siemens-developed bonus tools)
May analyze HRIT Fusion employee data for checks/data validity/governance purposes
Prepare materials for review, i.e., Microsoft PowerPoint, summary exhibits, communication materials
Depending on project, work closely with others in the Compensation team to analyze data, summarize findings, develop templates/materials/communications, including:
Design
Modeling
Analytics
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, from accredited university preferred
1 to 2 plus years of analytical support experience
Ability to travel up to 20% (in the future, post COVID end of pandemic)
Experience with Excel, including higher level functions required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and PPT
Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Experience in compensation & benefits function or activities, including salary management and incentive management
Some knowledge of Human Resources and Compensation & Benefits
