TITLE: Business Data Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

REPORTS TO: Director of Business Intelligence

GENERAL SUMMARY

As a Business Data Analyst (BDA), the primary function of the position is to
analyze Credit Union and external data to make recommendations and implement
ideas that help achieve long and short term marketing/strategic goals.
Responsible for performing a wide range of functions in support of market
research, market assessment, presenting results, strategy and implementation.
This position will also directly assist the Director of Business Intelligence in
gathering data to suggest efficiencies, gain insight into member behavior,
revenue streams, the consolidation of systems, identify market trends, tracking,
reporting to various internal partners, but not limited to: Marketing,
Operations, Lending and Compliance. The BDA must also be self-motivated to
learn new programming languages and develop processes that create outstanding
member experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist in developing predictive models using data mining techniques for
estimating current and future member engagement, prospecting new members,
cross-selling to existing members (response models), and identifying members
retention/attrition indicators and increase overall member profitability.

Develop, extract, execute and track programs involving current CORE, CRM &
MCIF systems including but not limited to propensity/credit/member relationships
for marketing and business development.

Aid in program reporting, analytics, and data feeds to enable targeted
marketing, member lifetime value/growth opportunities, member loyalty,
organizational improvement and assisting in communication of data analytics and
research results.

Data validation expert of qualifying and non-qualifying lists for marketing
and operational programs with CORE, MCIF and CRM to include new & existing
member programs, cross-sell, credit driven and behavioral/transactional
programs.

Manage primary and secondary research. Collect and analyze market and member
data from key marketing systems (marketing automation, CRM, data warehouses)
specifically segmentation, data-mining for predictive insights, member
profiling, potential markets to be used to generate, distribute and report for
strategic/operational insights and actionable plans.

Collaborate with IT on maintenance functions/processes and other data
related processes.

Act as secondary backup, development and maintenance for CRM, MCIF, Digital
Client Suite, website CMS admin, Online Banking marketing tools and external
websites while leveraging web and email engagement to improve overall member
experience via our digital channels.

Aid with monthly and quarterly department and business reviews providing
actionable insights to improve performance and member satisfaction over time.

Develop creative and automation with digital channels with email
communications, online application forms, MCIF and CRM systems.

Develop and brand online/digital assets for marketing and advertising. This
will require working with agency partners, managing existing tracking studies
and keeping on top of new and innovative ways to provide value and impact to
Erie FCU’s advertising, media and brand efforts.

Aid in developing advanced multi-touch lead nurture campaigns through direct
mail, website, social, and email channels.

Evaluate and execute changes with existing and new online application
platforms for efficiencies, cross-sell and end-user usability.

Assist in taking current and future CU digital systems to the next level of
execution, optimization, and refinement and recommending appropriate analytic
approaches and identifying new ways to apply research and analytics to grow the
business.

Assist in developing actionable insights based on synthesis of multiple
research and analytic learnings; present insights and recommendations to
business partners across all levels of the organization.

Work collaboratively with business partners and cross-functional teams to
support a fact-driven and “through consumers’ eyes” decision-making
culture.

Create and maintain metric reports on marketing and sales activities,
effectiveness, and business impact.

Evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize
marketing team performance.

Track all marketing campaigns and provide meaningful analysis and insight
for future efforts.

Analyze consumer segments and other demographic information from the
membership database to provide insight for product development, usage, and
cross-sell opportunities.

Manage third-party vendor integration with marketing systems including but
not limited to SQL Management Studio, CORE, CRM, MCIF, Email Clients, and
Microsoft Suite.

Maintain current knowledge of all Credit Union policies and procedures,
including compliance with federal laws and regulations as set forth by the NCUA
and other regulatory agencies.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

Participate in Team meetings to discuss marketing plan and future objectives
of marketing goals.

Maintain a thorough knowledge of Erie FCU products and services (including
applications), credit union philosophy, and professional communication skills.

Promotes Credit Union image and growth in the local community through
participation in approved business events and financial literacy programs.

Able to prioritize numerous tasks with great attention to detail and
demonstrate sound and prudent decision making, ethics, and professionalism.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

BS or BA in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.

Two years of experience in data analytics preferred.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Technically capable, excellent communicator and a desire to improve
processes.

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records
at all times.

Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and
Outlook.

Ability to occasionally work independently and be professionally
self-sufficient.

Ability to analyze member needs, develop, and coordinate marketing
activities to fit member needs with Credit Union products and services.
