Job Summary
Site Safety and Health Officer with a minimum of 10 years experience for Federal and Public Works. This position involves creating safety plans for construction projects, overseeing and enforcing project’s safety plan, training employees in safety, organizing and conducting safety meetings, preparing safety reports, maintaining safety reports, identifying and correcting safety hazards, and providing recommendations for safety improvements.
*Marine experience is a plus. Open to part time or on a consulting job per job basis.*
Duties
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and risks
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and prevent recurrence
- Maintain records of safety inspections, training, and incidents
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving safety performance
Skills
- Proficiency in construction site safety practices
- Familiarity with construction management software for safety reporting
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) standards
- Ability to assess risks and implement effective risk management strategies
- Understanding of workers' compensation procedures
- Experience in compliance management related to safety regulations
- Knowledge of occupational health principles
- Background in construction management is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
