ENSCO’s Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division designs, develops and manufactures advanced technology inspection systems for national and international railway markets. These cutting edge products utilize precision, high speed sensors including lasers, area scan cameras, line scan cameras, accelerometers and gyroscopes to ensure track safety and efficiency.
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum five years of development experience in electrical systems design, test, analysis, and documentation. You will work closely with team members and lead the development and support of highly technical, innovative systems and products through all phases of the project life cycle. A successful applicant will be a self-motivated engineer with proven leadership experience in developing new systems and products. Excellent technical and communication skills are required.
Job Responsibilities include:
Electrical design of inspection systems for advanced railway test vehicles.
System specification, design, test and documentation.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams for successful system design integration and test.
Check and approve integrated designs for release to production.
Engineering and systems support for existing products.
Support Production and Service groups to ensure successful product build, field deployment and operation.
Lead internal factory acceptance tests for system designs and builds.
Diagnose and resolve challenging system issues in the field.
Problem solving, root cause analysis and product performance analysis.
Recommend and implement product improvements for increased reliability and reduced costs.
New product development
Provide technical leadership for engineering teams.
Specify system components including electrical components, sensors, computers, cables and other electrical hardware.
Develop data acquisition and processing systems.
Test, debug and analyze prototype performance.
Qualifications Required (Skills)
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of electrical design experience.
System level design experience.
Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics, microcontrollers, and networks.
Design experience with real-time data acquisition systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills including working in team environments.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to climb a ladder 15 feet high to gain access to railway cars.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
The selected candidate may be required to submit to fingerprinting, drug screening, and additional background investigations in connection with this position.
Wearing safety equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest and protective eye glasses) when working on railroad properties is also a requirement. ENSCO will provide all necessary safety equipment.
Masters in Electrical Engineering
