As our Operations Manager, you’ll be joining a group of 17 team members who’ve had a hand in building our business, culture, and body of work. Agency work demands the prioritization of time and effort to help deliver for our clients; however, we’re dedicated to helping our team build a long-lasting career with us. In fact, we dedicate up to eight hours a week for employees to allocate towards “investment time” as a way to encourage our teammates to spend time improving their craft and continuing to learn.
You’ll play a vital role in helping us strike a balance between the immediacy of our customer work, and continuing the improve and engage our group of talented technologists through career development and growth opportunities-all the while, ensuring we can scale our culture as we continue to grow.
The Operations Manager role reports to our CEO and works closely with our team leads. You’ll act as the team’s “chief of staff” whose work spans across the agency. As a remote team, you’ll help us balance building our culture synchronously and making sure we can all work efficiently asynchronously with better process and structure.
Our workload changes frequently based on the needs of our clients. You’ll work with account managers to manage forecasting and hiring to help us plan better for the future.
Owning payroll, benefits, PTO, and compliance; updates as needed, and work with our providers.
Partner with our external accountant on payroll for subcontractors
Be the keeper of our time-tracking system for client work abd work with individuals to clarify and make adjustments.
Continue to add to our in-house scorecard application which we use to monitor the health of our business.
Improve our existing hiring process, train the team, and set expectations that ensure we’re providing excellent candidate experience.
Manage all new employee onboarding; partnering with team leads to make improvements.
Keep our employee handbook up to date as we continue to hire folks in other states; an eye on compliance is fundamental!
As a people operations business partner, you’ll conduct 1:1s with all teammates and provide constructive feedback when needed.
You’ll work with managers to ensure individuals are progressing and are engaging with challenging projects that align with the business and their personal career goals. Work creatively to make sure the teams’ investment time is valuable.(Performance management, goal setting)
Advocate for our company culture. As we grow, you’ll want to help us embody our values and attitude and continue to be successful.
Partner with team members to write copy for and add case studies, client testimonials and other information to our website and careers page.
With our partners, help put together a content calendar and collaborate on content for social and our blog.
Research and present ideas for conference sponsorship and other opportunities for employer/company branding.
Manage company swag; work with designers externally/internally to create new designs. Collaborate with the team to share swag with our clients.
