Full Job Description
DCG is seeking an experienced, creative and energetic Video/Film Editor as part of a media production team to further develop our client’s documentary website featuring multimedia stories of Veterans.
Location: DCG is based in Washington, DC, however, we are operating fully virtually for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19. The ideal candidate is based in the DC Metropolitan Region; however, we are open to candidates living and working remotely.
Travel: travel may be required as requested by the client to video locations in the United States.
About You (required experience):
Strong visual style with experience in video editing, motion graphics, video format standards, and basic live production
Ability to work independently and within a team environment to shoot and edit video
Experience editing and converting video between various formats for delivery
Possess at least 10 years’ demonstrated experience producing documentary-style media for
primary, nationally recognized outlets such as PBS, Nova, BBC, American Experience, and New York Times Media and shall have achieved recognition from peers in their respective fields
Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressure
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills implementing direction and feedback
Strong visual style and familiarity with such concepts such as composition, light, space, shape, etc. as they pertain to photography/videography
Basic understanding and skill with the broad aspects of live video production: video camera knowledge (frame rates, shutter speeds, aperture, ISO, white balance, composition), simple lightings setups (such as three-point lighting), basic audio (shotgun mic. and boom pole use), etc.
Technical savvy and an understanding of interactive technology
Possess your own video equipment; equipment may be provided by the client
Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
Legal authorization to work in the U.S
