Flex Staff Chaplain
Geisinger Medical Center Hospital
The Staff Chaplain will provide spiritual care in an interfaith, healthcare setting. The Chaplain will work as a part of a team of chaplains providing direct care and support to patients, families and staff. The Chaplain will support the educational mission of the department including working in conjunction with ACPE program to train and mentor chaplain students, as well as educational offerings to and for the community.

1. Demonstrates an understanding of and an ability to articulate the mission of spiritual care that respects religious and cultural diversity.
2. Ability to provide spiritual care in an interfaith milieu.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree required. M. Div or Pastoral Studies required.
Minimum of 4 units of CPE completed. Residency preferred.
Ordained, Licensed, or Commissioned by recognized denomination or faith group required.
Ecclesiastical Endorsement and statement of good standing from denomination required.
Association of Professional Chaplains (or NACC or NAJC), Board Certified Chaplain or eligible required.

Work is typically performed in an office or clinical environment.

GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER:
Located Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.
