JOB DESCRIPTION: TRC Advanced Energy (TRC), a nationally known energy consultancy, is seeking a marketing and social media associate in the Sacramento, California region. The position will be responsible for leading the development of marketing and outreach strategies and managing communications on multiple platforms in support of residential energy and water conservation programs. The successful candidate must have experience developing such strategies across multiple initiatives and launching and curating social media accounts. The position is ideally located in California at TRC's Rancho Cordova (Sacramento) office. Other potential work locations include Oakland CA, San Francisco CA, Irvine CA, Encinitas CA. Consideration toward other CA or National locations possible.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Design new marketing strategies and implement regional and statewide marketing plans
  • Manage communication strategy and implementation for regional and statewide programs
  • Develop and manage content for social media accounts
  • Support other outreach efforts such as local and regional event planning and attendance
  • Conduct and track direct outreach to both existing and new program participants
  • Develop and sustain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Document progress for client reporting
  • Follow industry newsletters and publications
  • Assist with website design and content
  • Provide application and enrollment assistance to participants
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise in eligibility, enrollment, and program processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter who takes initiative
  • Ability to present information clearly, concisely, and engagingly to an audience
  • Experience creating easy to read content, making difficult concepts approachable to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to handle multiple high priority projects and work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to contribute individually and participate in cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with developing and launching new social media strategies and campaigns
  • Familiarity with creating content, including text posts, video and images for use on social media
  • Experience promoting products, services and content over social media, in a way that is consistent with an organization’s brand and social media strategy
  • Experience tracking data and analyzing the performance of marketing and social media campaigns
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in, or knowledge of energy, residential construction, or multifamily housing is a plus
  • Graphic design experience is a plus
  • Grant or proposal development and writing experience is a plus
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
