Develops plans and designs kitchens, bathrooms and other environments by working with builders/remodelers and their clients and performing the following duties. To be considered qualified, potential candidates should be comfortable in starting with a draw against commission compensation structure, and bring in an established book of sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Confers with builder and client to determine preferences for cabinets/finishes and countertops/surfaces along with other factors which impact planning for the affected rooms.
- Renders design ideas in by using the 20-20 Design and Moraware programs for estimates and drawings, estimating material requirements and costs, and presents design to customer for approval.
- Orders cabinetry and countertops and accessories.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in design a plus, but relevant design sales experience may offset education. To be considered, a potential candidate should have a book of sales that can be brought in to the company for successful transition.
Mathematical Skills Ability to multiply, add, divide, and subtract to calculate raw materials requirements and costs for cabinetry and other components.
Reasoning Ability In order to successfully perform, the Design Sales person will be able to discuss, determine, calculate, present and help the client decide on the appropriate materials and surfaces to use in the project.
Computer Skills Individual must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to use software to generate drawings and estimates is mandatory. Proficiency in 20-20 Design and Moraware is preferred.
Physical Demands The physical setting is 66-75% of the time in office or showroom environment. 25% of the time may be at constructions sites. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Walking with occasional climbing in and around constructions sites.
Work Environment Up to 75% of the time will be indoors. Up to 25% of the time may be in construction sites or outdoors viewing construction sites.
