As a Software Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc. in Manassas, VA, you will be part of a team that works on software projects primarily focused on improving manufacturing efficiency and tools that enable timely decision-making and access to data. Our team provides both complete web applications with front/back ends and also data collection and processing apps. Each member of the team does full-stack software development and works directly with customers all the way from initial concept discussions to rollout and training.
We are looking for a candidate who has shown interest and enthusiasm in learning new technologies, has hands-on experience doing full-stack development, and is ready to manage a variety of tasks and projects in an independent environment.
Candidates must have experience with all facets of the web technology stack with our preferences as shown below:
Python, Perl, VB, C
Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Couch
HTML, CSS, Angular2+
CodeIgniter, MS MVC, Laravel
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Crafting and enhancing software that improve manufacturing efficiency
Sketch to scale software development encompassing the full SDLC
Working within a collaborative team environment
Meaningful requirements gathering to isolate flexible and scalable software solutions
2+ years of industry experience is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
The willingness and ability to easily learn new programming languages and technologies
A good understanding of relational databases with hands-on experience designing and building databases and developing SQL statements
The ability to work well with customers and listen to their feedback while balancing their needs with good software decision-making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A strong work ethic and good time management skills
The ability to handle and prioritize several concurrent projects or tasks
A proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
The ability to independently troubleshoot problems to resolution
Familiarity with version-control software and procedures is a strong plus
Experience with CodeIgniter is a strong plus
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs is a strong plus
Experience building data visualizations is a strong plus
Preference will also be given to candidates who are familiar with other tools and concepts used in software development such as:
Object oriented programming
Required Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
