Job purpose
Manage accounting department personnel and the input/output of financial data to accurately capture and report all companies activities efficiently and effectively. Assist CFO & Analyst in economic decisions that affect future performance.
Duties and responsibilities

Responsible for GL Reconciliation of the trial balance

Thorough review of all balance sheet accounts and pertinent IS accounts.

Verification/validation of Staff Accountant reconciliation

Hierarchical verification of balances (third party>other software/vendors>internal sub ledgers>spreadsheets)

Compile Month End Financial Statements, review thoroughly.

Compile and submit year end trial balances and supporting schedules per CPA requirements.

Assures Corporate Income and sales tax compliance, timely & accurate tax returns, including issuance of 1099s.

Responsible for oversight of Daily banking transactions (backup when SA not available)

Accountable for Timely Dissemination of defined reports.
- Participates in a wide variety of special projects and can provide supporting reports, opinions & recommendations.
- Supervises, trains and mentors supporting staff in the accounting department.

Understands and remains current on financial updates with potential to impact Companies bottom line, D&B, and Interest Ratings.

Advises on cash flow opportunities, identifies concerns & proposes action.

Develop/manage/approve Policies & SOPs within department (w/personnel)

Manages active Financial Audits of accounting processes.

Fluent with Microsoft Dynamics GP, BNA, TMW, TMT, Microsoft Office Suite and all other company mandated equipment & software.

Annual review of accounting staff performance; quarterly subordinate metric review

Risk assessment and internal control processes and procedures.

Commercial vehicle ride along with company driver for training exposure

Qualifications
Accounting degree required
10 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience
Financial Management
Personal effectiveness/credibility
Proficient in communication
Strong ethical conduct
Ability to use standard office equipment: computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, etc.
Must pass post-offer, pre-employment drug test and agree to companies drug free workplace policies.
