You would be responsible for delivering Kids Café meals to various schools in the valley on a regularly scheduled route. Our Kids Café Drivers act in the capacity of Customer Service Representatives in their daily contact with agency staff and volunteers.

Founded in 1967, St. Mary’s is known as the world’s first food bank. Our mission is to alleviate hunger in our state by gathering and distributing food to those in need while encouraging self-sufficiency.

Hours are typically M-F 8 A.M. - 4:30 P.M but can vary depending on program needs.

Rate of pay is $16/hr.

Responsibilities of the Route Driver include, but are not limited to:

Up-keep of assigned company vehicles to ensure safety, fueling, DOT and appearance standards are met.
Operating manual or electric pallet jacks according to SMFBA policy and OSHA standards.
Loading and unloading Kids Café meals according to established policies and procedures.
Washing out transportation units on trucks/vans to ensure cleanliness.
Completing Driver Record of Duty and Vehicle Inspection Reports daily as required by the Department of Transportation.
Maintaining the proper handling of food to ensure specific temperatures measures and cross contamination guidelines are adhered to.
Completing agency and program paperwork and communicating daily regarding agency deliveries.
Delivering Kids Café meals for school programs, ensuring on-time standards are adhered to.
Maintaining excellent relations with agencies and volunteer staff at all times.
Ensuring food is placed in cold storage unit at that agency side per the Health Department.
Completing daily reports.
Driving a B truck to complete a pick-up or delivery.
Reporting to the Food Service Manager for additional assignments during down time or delays.
This is a safety sensitive position.

Qualifications Sought:
A high school diploma or GED.
The ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times during the route.
One year experience driving a commercial vehicle.
Good driving record.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
CDL (Class B) license.
Current DOT Medical Certification.
Bi-lingual – English/Spanish (helpful)
Ability to move and/or lift 50-75 lbs. on a consistent basis.
