The Laboratory Test Engineer will be part of R&D teams testing new medical equipment products, with the goal of ensuring that all reliability and regulatory requirements are completely accomplished. The Laboratory Test Engineer will provide support to reliability engineering teams by designing, operating and maintaining reliability/qualification test equipment and procedures, by conducting testing in various reliability labs using a variety of test equipment, by documenting test data and performance, and by providing and documenting mechanical and electrical failure analysis. This position is focused on test of hardware as opposed to software – i.e. mechanical and electrical product reliability and robustness.
You are responsible for
Provide R&D REL (reliability) support in the form of parameter testing, fault analysis, test set up of ultrasound systems.
Design, document, implement and maintain electrical and electro-mechanical test fixtures for a variety of HW and module design requirements.
Program, operate and maintain controllers, data acquisition modules, actuators, electrical load test systems, etc.
Supervise calibration and maintenance of test equipment and fixtures.
Conduct thermal surveys, IR tests, accelerometer monitored vibration tests, and other types of electrically or thermally monitored tests.
Perform functional acceptance tests, safety tests, and upgrades to Ultrasound systems and integrated modules.
Perform minor mechanical modifications.
Create, document and maintain test procedures and instructions.
Provide legible and usable test reports using various computer tools.
Maintain product history records.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Experience using electronic test equipment (digital Oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, data loggers, electrical safety).
Must be knowledgeable in analog and digital circuitry.
Must have the ability to isolate analog and digital circuitry faults to assembly level.
Must be able to fabricate and assemble mechanical and electronic components/assemblies per engineering documentation.
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, often under schedule pressure.
Knowledge of programming languages related to test equipment and control.
Familiarity with IT and network operations helpful.
Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) tools.
Must have methodical work habits, be self-motivated with a desire to get the job done.
Job includes physically moving mobile ultrasound systems and installing OEMs up to 50 lbs.
BS Degree in Test Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years’ experience in a role related to laboratory or test engineering or equivalent.
Experience in medical electronics is a plus
