The Social Media Channel Manager will operationalize the development and curation of branded content through all brand social media channels, ensuring that channel voice, frequency, and response goals are met. Currently there are seven social media channels in which the firm proactively publishes its content: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, SoundCloud, SlideShare and LinkedIn. The Channel Manager accomplishes their responsibilities through five key processes. Proactive Content Curation – Develops broad internal network of content pipelines from a variety of areas (investment writers, marketing divisions, PR, CSR, Brand, ) to maximize available channel content. Adapts curated content for channel by authoring, or working with writers to author, copy that is appropriate for their respective channel – voice, length, style. Publishing Social Content. Operational accountability for all publishing activities across channels. Response Management: Works with Special Correspondence Group to answer questions and ensure response opportunities are triaged through a timely, brand-consistent process. Governance and Quality Control – Ensures that channel content is published accurately, on schedule and in accordance with existing social style guide. Ensures that published content follows established processes to meet regulatory and compliance requirements, Regularly communicates channel performance and corresponding social channel impact to stakeholders. Channel Expertise: Communicates channel enhancements and changes (new features, algorithm changes, advertising opportunities) to internal stakeholders and explains potential impacts. Develops and executes plan for TRP to take advantage of platform advancements, e.g. live video.

The Social Media Channel Manager will leverage their network and expertise to identify new content that will contribute to the success of T. Rowe Price’s social media channels:

Social Content Leadership

Develops internal networks to open pipelines of content and to curate this content to be used for our social media channels.
Collaborates with outside agency partners, Global Brand team, business segment marketers, as well as the content development teams to lead development and finalization of all content posted to our owned social properties.
With final decision making responsibility for social media channel content in all channels, the Channel Manager acts independently to solve problems with proactive and reactive channel content and ensure that channel operations are meeting our established goals.
Ensures that all channel content is posted free of errors, has passed through legal and governance filters and is properly retained for compliance purposes.
Manages day to day relationship with social media agency of record
Communicates channel requirements and evolutions to content creators to ensure that all content produced is appropriate for specific channel users.
Educates internal and external partners on social media best practices and TRP content processes.
Social Client Care Oversight

Monitors response strategy with internal partners (Special Correspondence Group, Legal, etc.) and with our agency to ensure timely, authentic and empathetic responses are provided to channel users.
Responsible for day-to-day monitoring across their respective social channel for awareness and to help identify opportunities to engage with their community.
Channel Expertise and Insight Leadership

Tracks, manages and reports on all activity across their respective channel
Continuously provides feedback to writing teams and other content creators on channel evolutions that impact best practices for writing for their respective channels.
Serves as subject matter expert for information on, and strategies for, using their specific channel. The incumbent will leverage this knowledge to educate peers, investment teams, distribution marketing partners and our agency in the best ways to reach targeted audiences using their respective channel.


College degree and 4 years of related work experience, or Associate degree and 6 years related work experience, or High School diploma/equivalent and 8 years related work experience
List the required knowledge and skills (e.g., attributes such as interpersonal skills, communication skills, leadership ability, etc…) that a person will need to be successful in this position: 2+ years working in a social media, communications, marketing or content role for a large brand or similar relevant work experience
3-5 years financial services industry experience / regulated firm industry experience
Expertise or experience in working with social technologies (including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, SlideShare)
Self-described analytic, comfortable with using numbers and data to support engagement strategies.
Strong ability to self-identify and resolve problems
Editorial competency – able to translate complex ideas into a succinct, social media frame. Someone who enjoys the art of writing
Able to communicate ideas clearly at all levels of an organization via strong written, visual and oral communication skills
Team player with a demonstrated track record of building strong relationships and collaborating across teams
Self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent time management and organizational skills
High attention to detail
Adapts easily within environments of constant change and growth
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Ability to think about the business from a broader perspective, connect multiple initiatives together and lead teams to achieve stated goals.
