The Red Hat University (RHU) team is looking for a Manager focused on learning and development (L&D) portfolio management to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will manage a team of portfolio managers covering technical, sales, professional, and management L&D portfolios. You'll be responsible for leading your team to define and standardize portfolio management at RHU. In addition, you will be responsible for the development of your associates and making sure that performance standards are met or exceeded. You will also pick up several portfolio management responsibilities that stretch over multiple portfolios up to 50% of the time. You’ll oversee the implementation of portfolio management standards for all training programs to ensure premium workforce preparation. As a Manager, you will maintain ongoing partnerships with other associates and groups focused on optimizing costs, maximizing value, and continual performance improvement. You’ll need to support all aspects of our service delivery model, helping define needs and coverage within. You will also coordinate with external vendors, consultants, contractors, and partners when necessary. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to Red Hat's future success.
Primary job responsibilities:
Lead portfolio managers to identify, document, and prioritize learning projects and needed resources in collaboration with L&D consultants
Lead efforts to standardize portfolio management deliverables, including project charters, service delivery model, and operations and maintenance plans
Engage in a cross-functional team to define learning impact measurements
Lead development and manage the performance of the Portfolio Management team
Communicate with internal RHU colleagues, regional and functional consultants, learning design teams, global learning delivery, platform and technology team, and other internal teams to ensure alignment of global strategies, premium program performance, and associate satisfaction
Partner with associates and managers across the RHU Consulting and Planning teams in setting strategy and monitoring operations
Coach and mentor partner associates across RHU and the People (HR) team
Facilitate programs and knowledge transfer in assigned areas and ensure that internal and third-party associates are enabled for their role
Adult learning and development experience; consulting, instructional design, or facilitation experience
5 years of experience managing a team; ability to guide associates and manage L&D resources
Solid leadership skills with the ability to ensure performance while maintaining high team morale
Thorough understanding of training design, delivery, and administration
Solid project or program management experience, including planning and budgeting
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Willingness to travel 10-25%
Bachelor's degree in a related field with 7+ years of experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
