A Workforce Administrative Aide provides advanced administrative and project support within the workforce development department. This position can issue instructions on behalf of a supervisor or exercise direct supervision over a small number of volunteer/intern staff. Work involves independent decision making and a thorough knowledge of the terminology, procedures, and practices within a defined activity area as well as planning and organizing the work flow utilizing departmental rules, regulations, and procedures. Examples of duties include conveying the value of workforce courseware, proctoring workforce assessments, assisting with the management of customer retention records (electronic and hard copy), assisting with managing projects, reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy; composing and responding to a variety of correspondence; interpreting and making decisions in accordance with policies and laws; updating computer databases or other systems, running reports, comparing data, and auditing records; preparing reports or other documents; providing customer service and responding to issues or complaints; scheduling meetings or events; providing general administrative support such as typing, phones, and filing; and using a variety of office software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

$17.04 (minimum) - $24.73 (maximum) hourly / $35,443 - $51,438 annually. Candidates may be hired above the minimum depending upon qualifications.

A bachelor’s degree OR four (4) years of clerical experience.
Some positions in this classification require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess an appropriate valid Arizona driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage and have an acceptable driving record.
Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.
