Job Summary
This job performs a variety of accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in one or more of the following areas: general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related financial areas. This position prepares all invoices for accounts payable processing, posts information to the general ledger, processes payments and completes segments of monthly closings, annual reports, etc. This position contacts other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems as necessary.

Primary Accountabilities

The accountabilities of this job are as follows:
Accounts Payable – review invoices and expense reports for correct GL allocation, sales tax and approvals. Pay invoices and expense reports using A/P software.
Send files over internet banking – payroll, payroll taxes, wires, expense reports, bank charges.
Create payroll general ledger files to be posted.
Prepare and enter deposits.
General Ledger – post entries.
Review student loan reconciliations.
DBI mailroom and post office delivery.
Manage inventory of office supplies.

Secondary Accountabilities

The accountabilities of this job are as follows:
Assist other departments with research items as requested.
Backup the Staff Accountant with payroll, board reporting, etc.
Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.

Associates or better in Accounting or related field.

Associates or better in Business or related field.

Associates or better in Finance or related field.


3 years: Experience with accounts payable and general ledger.
