Bodily Injury Adjuster will effectively manage an inventory of Bodily Injury claims pursuant to statutory regulations as well as Claims Best Practices standards. The Bodily Injury Adjuster will review and analyze bodily injury claim files to determine potential exposures, identify cases that should be recommended for settlement, and develop strategic plans that will be efficient, cost-effective, and done in a timely manner.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Interview medical specialists, agents, police, medical professionals, witnesses, attorneys, or claimants to compile information regarding accidents and resulting injuries.
- Review information compiled from the interview to assist in establishing preliminary and/or final claim settlement value.
- Investigate bodily injury liability claims by securing recorded statements from insured drivers, claimant drivers, independent witnesses, determination of comparable negligence relative to liability exposures.
- Determine potential additional exposures and maintain insured advised of same.
- Retention of scene investigators and/or other vendors as needed to assist in establishing liability and determining comparative negligence.
- Provide excellent customer service to all parties involved.
- Responsible for follow up with applicable parties to discuss liability and settlement negotiation in exchange for a release.
- Responsible for submitting reservation of rights and denial letter language.
- Responsible for cost analysis review of litigation files, comparing potential defense costs vs case settlement value.
- Responsible for managing a case load of between 150-180 claim files in a timely, effective, and organized manner.
- Responsible for proper loss/expense reserves.
- Responsible for special projects at the direction of management as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years of experience handling bodily injury claims in the state of Florida.
- Must have an active Florida all lines adjuster license.
- Full understanding of bodily injury claims investigations and claims processing.
- Knowledge of mechanics of bodily injury, medical terminology, settlement negotiations.
- Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with computers, web-based applications, and Microsoft Office.
- Possess technical problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to apply updated comparative negligence laws.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work within a team environment.
- Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with other adjusters as needed to resolve exposures to the organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
