About the Position: Arlington National Cemetery is located in Arlington, VA. Since May of 1864, Arlington National Cemetery has served as the nation's premier military cemetery and shrine honoring those men and women who served in the Armed Forces.
Serve as a Tools and Parts Attendant by receiving, storing and issuing tools and equipment used by shop personnel at Arlington National Cemetery.
Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to assure the equipment, materials, and tools are available.
Reallocate stock to consolidate like items, makes room for new items or to obtain more efficient utilization of space.
Verify returned items for servicability and prepares appropriate documentation for items needing repaired.
Establish and maintain a system of credit card purchases in accordance with regulations and guidelines to ensures funds are available and authorized for all purchases.
Dispatch engineering and material handling equipment to transport personnel and cargo to various locations.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position is considered weather essential and is required to report to work in all-weather condition, even when the rest of the Government is closed due to weather.
Must possess and retain a valid state drivers license and must pass testing for and retain a government drivers license. May be required to transport others in and around the cemetery.
In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
This position is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a pre-placement physical exam.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Tools and Parts Attendant without more than normal supervision: conducting inventory of a shop to ensure the appropriate amount of tools and equipment are available for work projects; collaborating with internal and/or external supply shops to obtain needed materials; maintaining documentation for shop equipment. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Work assignments involve light physical effort in standing, walking, and bending. Frequently lifts and carries tools, locks, supplies and other items that weigh up to 40 pounds, and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is generally done in an area that is well lighted, heated and ventilated.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
This is a Career Program (CP) 13 position.
