The Director of Talent Acquisition is responsible for the design, development and delivery of Delta Dental’s talent acquisition strategy. Through best-in-class recruiting strategies and programs, the Director of Talent Acquisition sets the vision and leads the talent acquisition team in the effort to attract and retain exceptional talent at all levels in support of long-term organizational goals and strategic initiatives. This position partners with other Centers of Excellence, Organizational Effectiveness Consulting and business leaders to align the candidate recruitment strategy with business priorities and ensure an optimal candidate and hiring manager experience.
How you will make an impact:
Establishes relationships and partnerships with key business and People Organization leaders to understand talent needs, develop innovative, results driven strategies to meet current and future needs, and drive accountability in recruiting and selection
Develops and executes the structure, processes, practices, training and tools necessary to support the talent acquisition strategies
Creates and drives the vision for employer branding and talent sourcing of diverse candidates
Provides expertise in market insights, talent landscape, and an understanding of talent needs to assist in developing workforce planning strategies
Uses key metrics to monitor and socialize talent acquisition performance and effectiveness
Develops and leads the team to execute best-in-class practices for end-to-end candidate experience inclusive of sourcing, screening, interviewing, communication, selection and onboarding
Develops high performing recruitment and sourcing professionals through ongoing opportunities for professional development, mentorship and coaching
Embeds processes, tools and systems within the business to ensure there is hiring manager and interview team commitment to the interview process, and a consistent, positive candidate experience
Provides leadership thought partnership, training and coaching to hiring managers and business partners on best practices in interviewing, candidate experience, onboarding execution, etc.
Leads the selection of assessment tools and instruments to optimize the quality of candidate selection
Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements across all geographies, including practices, processes, tracking and reporting
Contributes to the overall employee strategy for the People Organization
What we look for:
BA/BS in related field or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of talent acquisition experience in sophisticated talent acquisition environments and structures leveraging current best practices
4+ years of leadership experience
Large scale project management skills
Demonstrated leadership of a talent agenda that contributes to organizational growth and improved customer experience
Demonstrated ability to develop, articulate and implement tailored and effective talent acquisition strategies that support and help drive overall business effectiveness
Strong leader, strategic thinker and influencer with proven track record of driving successful change and transformation efforts and consulting, communicating, championing and organizing new ideas and initiatives
Highly relationship oriented that knows how to accomplish work with and through others at all levels, maintaining strong internal and external networks
Proven ability of effectively influencing and navigating across organizational boundaries and building strong partnerships that produce results
Data driven, with the ability to prepare and present analytics to senior teams related to all talent acquisition for the company
Strong management, coaching, and development skills; commitment to developing team members
Successful history of building and managing structures and processes that consistently support hiring needs, in excess of more than 500 hires per year, across a range of levels and geographies, from front-line staff to executives
Strong project planning and management skills, keen eye toward detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong customer service commitment and skills; focus on constant improvement of the candidate and hiring manager experience
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal skills; proven track record of communicating effectively with all levels
