Manages a section in a department that has institutional oversight. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the section. Represents the section to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Plan, develop and implement special projects related to compensation and monitors outcome effectiveness
Supervise subordinate staff by establishing workflows and provide guidance on compensation related issues
Conducts job analysis to determine proper classicization and make recommendation to departmental supervisor and executive management
Responsible for report writing as it relates to compensation
Review and analyze Offer Outline Forms received via applicant tracking system
Conduct computer salary analysis to determine equity for similar jobs while taking into account the candidate's education and experience
Manage the review of new positons, reclassifications and salary request
Guide manager through compensation decisions
Maintain and test updates to all compensation automated systems
Review all eprint reports and determine resolution
Maintain knowledge of trends, developments and best practices in all areas of Human Resources. Assist where needed
Develop and execute trainings and material for compensation related topics
Continue to develop in HR competencies and leadership
Analyze compensation policies to include government regulation in order to develop sound practices and procedures for the institution
Responsible for direct preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees and management on compensation updates, pertinent policy changes and system implementations
Position Specific Qualifications:
Manage the development and operations of compensation programs for the institution
Report writing and provide resolution for desired outcome. Manage the review process for new position requests, reclassifications and salary reviews
Assist in developing principals and practices for compensation, classification modules
Analyze position control through the review of position descriptions and organizational charts
Assess departmental needs and provide salary analysis and will make recommendations based on their organizational structure, current market data and institutional structure. Highly skilled in oral and written communication
Must maintain a high level of confidentiality, maintain effective working relationships with internal and external members. Interpret and apply policies and procedures at the local, state and federal level
Communicate effectively both verbally and in written in English language
Bachelor's degree required plus four years supervisory experience.
Experience working with higher education
Knowledgeable with HRIs software such as Banner and Cognos

Minimum Hire Rate
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
