Red Hat Product Security is adding a Director of Red Hat Product Security in Westford, MA or Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will ensure that our offerings and services continue to receive exceptional security response and remediation. You'll represent the Product Security Incident Response team (PSIRT) within the broader Products and Technologies (PnT) team at Red Hat. You’ll assume a broad range of responsibilities and challenges ideal for an industry leader looking to expand their global visibility and impact. You will have a people management responsibility; so a healthy emphasis on associate career growth is essential and collaboration, transparency, inclusion, and trust are essential for senior-level leaders at Red Hat. The work location for this position is Red Hat's Engineering Headquarters in Westford, MA or the company's corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC.
Primary job responsibilities
Establish a long term vision and strategy for the PSIRT team
Lead and empower the PSIRT leadership team; develop, guide, and coach the people managers and individual contributors
Contribute actively to strategic discussions as part of our PnT leadership team
Work with stakeholders across our engineering, product, documentation, quality assurance, and technical support teams to align priorities with strategies and manage processes and goals across our diverse technology portfolio
Collaborate with product security architect and PSIRT operation manager to design and implement process improvements to our security response programs
Communicate effectively with customers, partners, senior management and technical leadership within Red Hat
Create and carry out a global engineering hiring strategy in order to implement the best hiring practices
Bachelor's degree in a related field
10+ years of overall experience working in IT; significant understanding of security technologies
6+ years of experience managing organizations of 50 associates or more; experience managing globally distributed teams
Willingness to travel 10-15%
Experience leading organizations in an open, transparent way; ability to work as part of a team
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills within highly collaborative environments
Industry certification like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar is a plus
Master' degree or MBA is a plus
