Job Summary:
The Product Engineer will participate in and lead engineering initiatives which deliver gross margin and product integrity control, support manufacturing operations, and meet customer requirements through quality and order fulfillment.This position will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, supply chain and operations.

Lead Engineering efforts on critical projects which includes idea development, prototype, validation, project execution, and plant/business system implementation
Provide Engineering design support of SBU productivity improvement projects through effective participation and leadership on cross functional teams
Provide technical oversight and support to production to meet and exceed customer expectations and order fulfillment requirements.
Lead and coordinate design and project activities with other Project Engineers and Designers in and out of production facilities. Ensure performance, quality, and reliability are maintained throughout the design cycle
Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering design, documentation, and bill of material for products on both a local and global level
Develop and coordinate testing of design concepts as necessary to validate new designs
Participate in or facilitate and lead value stream and lean workshops with internal teams as well as supply base.Participate in or conduct workshops to identify and define cost reduction opportunities
Support plant and product management cost out and margin expansion activities
Effectively use financial metrics along with evaluation of technical risk to make concrete decisions on level of project support
Build and encourage a culture of productivity within the Compression Technologies and Services SBU and local manufacturing facility.Provide support for the development of engineering team capability along with functional competencies.
Provide technical guidance to team members including Sourcing, Operations, Sales and Marketing with respect to product based decisions

BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) required
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing environment required
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
Working knowledge ofWindchillPLM system and Pro-E (CREO).
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and lead multiple concurrent projects and key initiatives based on the distinct needs of the business
Self-guided and capable of identifying design improvement risks or opportunities and implement appropriate subsequent actions.
Plant or manufacturing operation experience
Working knowledge and understanding of relevant manufacturing methods andprocess capabilities to include; various machining processes, casting, plastics, metal fabrication, welding, heat treatment, engineered coatings/finishes, engineered adhesives and others.
Experience with quality and reliability processes, supplier qualification, and part approval requirements
Ability to navigate projects or opportunities with limited definition and provide business and technical feedback on their merit
Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to lead effectively across functions (operations, product management, sourcing, etc.)
Proficient 3D CAD skills, Pro-E (CREO) and UG version NX2 or higher preferred
Leadership and interpersonal skills must be sufficient to allow incumbent to coordinate the work of others over whom he/she may have no authority.
