We are looking for an EHS-Quality specialist at our Williamsport, MD, facility to provide Environment, Health & Safety, Quality (EHSQ) and Continuous Improvement (CI) leadership in support of the company-wide and site specific EHSQ, and CI Programs.
The successful candidate will facilitate and lead EHSQ with a continuous improvement mindset and toolkit including assessing and setting EHSQ goals, metrics, and targets; and develop a strong EHSQ and CI culture in partnership with site and functional leadership.
This role will be based in Williamsport, MD with up to 25% travel. A health and safety background is required.
Responsibilities
HSE
● Manage development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures in compliance with all regulatory, company and customer requirements.
● Leads and/or participates in EHS improvement efforts, including:
● New employee orientation
● Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
● Safety & Quality Toolbox Talks
● EHS Inspections
● General EHS Audits
● Hazard Identification
● Ergonomic assessment
● Haz waste
● Design and implement monthly EHSQ topics based on company/ industry focus areas.
● Partners with site leadership to oversee and manage contractors, suppliers and vendors.
● Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
● Facilitates risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Works with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
● Create training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion.
● Work with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
● Supports Workers comp investigations in coordination with Human Resources.
● Standardize hazardous waste handling procedures and complete annual reporting.
● Oversee respiratory protection program compliance and recommend improvements.
Quality
● Assure conformance of incoming materials as well as the finished paint specification per customer standards.
● Leads and/or participates in Quality improvement efforts, including:
● Parts compliance
● Customer Inspections
● Customer Quality Audits
● Daily QC data recording
● Visual quality inspections of finished parts
● Partner with Corporate Quality engineer to satisfy customer complaint investigations.
● Review and update current EQI quality SOPs
● Assist with tracking OEE metrics for daily production rates.
CI
● Assist with tracking OEE metrics for daily production rates.
● Conduct usage studies on consumables for both the prep line and paint line to enhance ordering as well as implement cost savings projects.
● Use lean manufacturing tools to identify manufacturing waste based on TIMWOOD framework.
● Work with managers to implement a 5S site plan.
Required (Basic) Qualifications
● Minimum Three (3) years of previous EHS experience in a manufacturing/warehouse/distribution center environment preferred.
● Minimum of 1 year handling quality control aspects in manufacturing.
● Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
● Must be willing to travel 25% to audit and aid other EQI facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree environmental/safety or engineering from an accredited institution or a degree in a science or engineering field with a minimum of 3 years in Quality and/or EHS
● One (1) year supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.
● Understands OSHA/ISO regulations, technical documents & procedures.
● Lean Fundamentals understanding
● Experience with workers compensation.
● Demonstrated experience with safety programs.
● Proven history of safety metric performance and improvement
● Ability to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams.
● Bilingual English / Spanish a plus

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
