The successful applicant will have will have a basic knowledge of commercial construction trades, practices, procedures and will be familiar with the tools, equipment and materials necessary to assist the Foreman and Site Superintendents in carrying out their duties and other projects as assigned.
- Job requires ability to climb ladders, crawl for distances, work in confined areas, lift and manipulate heavy objects. Candidate must possess physical strength and agility needed to perform strenuous manual labor
- Be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours in a given day.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. unassisted to your waist.
- Have the ability to step up a 19-inch rise without assistance.
- Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions and organize assigned tasks for completion alone or with help
- Working conditions include restricted movement, dirty environment, extreme temperatures, working on buildings and/or scaffolding at heights over 15 feet above the ground and climbing ladders for heights up to 30 feet
- Erecting and dismantling concrete formwork and scaffolding.
- General wall and roof framing and sheathing
- Exterior siding, trim and roofing products
- Installation of standing and running trim
- Installation of cabinetry, doors and hardware
- Operating woodworking machines and tools such as power saws, drills, planers
- General knowledge of Building Codes
- At least three (3) years experience as a Carpenter is preferred
- Education and experience: High school education or equivalent
- Valid drivers license required
