The Role: COO Location: Austin, TX
HireBetter’ s client is a growing ecommerce company on a mission to redefine and lead the air purification category as a wellness brand.
To lay the foundation for this level of growth and differentiated product offering our client is seeking a chief operating officer (COO) to be a key member of a newly formed Executive team and complement a visionary CEO. The ideal candidate has extensive experience within the CPG industry building high trust operating teams, scalable business systems and a track record of efficient capital stewardship. Having been through the growth stages from less than $10M to $200M+ we believe this an opportunity for a seasoned executive with both large enterprise and startup experience to not only shape a company, but an industry. We are looking for a COO with strong culture, operational and financial leadership skills who has ability to assess and evolve the core operating model of the business while sustaining the momentum the company’ s 10-year history of customer commitment.
Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement
Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO
Directly oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and partner with the CEO on sales management to budget for sufficient investment capital to achieve growth targets over the near term
Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves investor targets relative to growth and profitability
Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting
Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders
Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs
Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance taking action when necessary
Develop the FP&A function toward assuring timely, accurate accounting and reporting of key financial measures with decision guidance on enterprise value impact
Post graduate degree in business administration, or related field
10+ years’ experience in executive leadership positions
Proven implementation experience with ERP and logistics systems (e.g., Netsuite)
Leadership skills, indicating mission orientation, personal integrity and care
Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues (e.g., import/export)
A solid grasp of recurring revenue models, data analysis and performance metrics
Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
Six Sigma or similar process level certification
Fundraising and board reporting experience
International business experience
Financial management, accounting and/or similar
