This position offers remote flexibility and can be based out of most cities in United States where there is a Parsons office.
The Financial Analyst will perform or support a wide variety of financial functions including, but not limited to; annual budgeting, forecasting, monthly financial close: analyzes results, including variance reconciliation, makes journal entries, developing and presenting accurate and insightful management reporting. Comfort with Finance and Accounting concepts, financial modeling skills, and a proactive/collaborative communication style are critical in the development of accurate planning and variance explanations.
Provide detailed and complex financial information that will be used to help make important business decisions. May be assigned to a specific project, to a section of the Finance or another department, or may be assigned to complete tasks at a field location.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Collaborates with Department Manager/Director to prepare annual budgets and tracks budget performance. Develops appropriate tools for achieving these tasks and seek improvement of existing processes.
Supports with financial reports, monthly variance analyses, forecasts and provides recommendations and feedback to management. Develop appropriate tools for achieving these tasks and seek improvement of existing processes.
Collaborates with Department Manager/Director to prepare forecasts and tracks forecast performance. Develops appropriate tools for achieving these tasks and seek improvement of existing processes.
Prepares monthly accruals and journal entries.
Partners with Department Manager/Director level to become their trusted "Business Partner". Leverage these relationships to gain better insight into the drivers of the business.
Communicates, interfaces, and coordinates with Finance personnel, Project Managers, Accounts Payable personnel, Contracts personnel, DCAA auditors, Talent Management, Management, and other professional staff in a professional and cooperative manner.
Develops & manages Financial Reporting/Forecasting/Budgeting tool for CAPEX & discusses with Management.
Manages IT Fixed Assets. Reviews, approves & analyzes costs processed through Asset Management System (AMS) and Construction In Progress (CIP) Account.
Performs ad hoc financial analysis as needed and provide recommendations to different stakeholders in the division - ability to balance the details while keeping the big picture in mind.
Processes, manages, and reports recoveries working with various customers/clients, making necessary adjustments, and creating /publishing monthly reports.
Liaison with Project Management with respect to project costs, cost estimates.
Mindset to identify where improvements and cost savings can be made whilst creating and maintaining strong business partnerships.
Annual Overhead Rate Activities:
Reconciliation of Labor per General Ledger to Quarterly Form 941
Perform analysis of Home & Field Labor Charging
Perform account analysis for FAR Compliance - Selected Accounts
Support of Annual Overhead Rate Audit
Support of Corporate Home Office Allocation FAR Compliance Testing
Support of Business Unit Overhead Cost Audit Requests
Supports with preparing procedures on as needed basis.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
Strong focus on optimizing processes and continuous improvement.
Leads and mentors junior staff.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requires a thorough knowledge of accounting techniques and principles, and may require a strong knowledge of established principles and accepted practices of government contracting work.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to build strong business relationships across multiple functions and levels; ability to articulate thought process and present it in a succinct way through strong communication skills.
Ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines while working with multiple departments in different time zones.
High sense of urgency and ability to identify creative solutions to advanced, time sensitive problems by balancing achievement of process objectives with practical considerations.
Proficiency in PC software packages typically associated with accounting & finance
Proficiency with Excel to include Pivot Table and VLOOKUP
4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economic (or equivalent) required
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Minimum 5+ years of related work experience (i.e. Financial Analyst, Accountant, Project Controls, Cost Engineering, or related fields) required
