As an Innovation Project Manager (IPM), you will proactively lead and monitor the innovation pipeline of projects across our Spirits portfolio (Vodka, Whiskey, Tequila and Rum) produced in the Americas region, working in close collaboration with the Global Strategic Marketing team and the Local Business Units (BU). You will help to guide the Marketing function in anticipation and resolving possible manufacturing / industrialization / product development issues during the early idea generation stage. The IPM will act as a key liaison for the Regional Supply Chain and the Marketing teams. This position will require the skill and ability to simultaneously lead numerous multi-disciplinary cross-functional teams and be accountable to consistently deliver against project objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Facilitates Product Innovation projects to ensure that projects run and progress smoothly through the execution of the Innovation Process.
Manages Innovation Projects within the Americas geography, impacts a variety of supply chain activities and streamlines the delivery of new or modified products to market.
Designs an achievable project plan (in terms of objectives, activities, deliverables, timing and team member’s responsibilities) together with the Business Leader.
Coordinates with the Business Leader to define the Innovation Project Team, which includes representatives from Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Legal and Finance.
Develops and maintains project GANTT timelines for all projects, keeping Team Members apprised of changes throughout the process. Coordinates all the project activities through cross-functional communication, meetings and knowledge sharing.
Facilitates meetings and follows up with detailed documentation, including minutes, drawings and specifications. He/she takes part in the monthly global Springboard meetings for the projects he/she coordinates.
Manages the Project Portfolio Management Tool with all the required information and documents (for each process step according to Innovation Project Rules) in collaboration with the Marketing Business Leader.
Responsible for monthly/quarterly KPI updates with regards to timelines, costs and accomplished tasks. Generates a consolidated project status reports on a monthly basis to the Global PMO Team.
Leads the Innovation Project team to successful delivery against time and costing targets.
Anticipates issues and, when necessary, escalates them to the appropriate resources.
Contributes to innovation’s effectiveness by optimizing innovation costs and maximizing return on investment.
Ensures a disciplined application of the Group Innovation Process, and is responsible for Innovation Process training within the region.
Maintains positive and collaborative relationships with all Campari departments
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Minimum 3 – 5 years project management experience working in the CPG industry; beverage alcohol preferred
BA/BS Degree Required; MBA a plus
Previous experience working with New Product Development/Innovation projects preferred
Previous experience within Manufacturing/Engineering/Industrialization a plus
A strong background in project management is required, along with a demonstrated creativity in project management processes
Demonstrated experience in producing results against aggressive timetables – organized, detail oriented and ability to multi-task
Strong communication, influencing and collaboration skills working across multiple functions and levels
Is a team player, flexible, resourceful and able to adapt to changes
Ability to implement and propose creative solutions while working within structured processes
Ability to lead/manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to travel
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project
Fluent in English, Spanish or Italian language skills a plus
