As a Starbucks program manager, security strategy & planning you will work as a member of the Global Security & Resilience (GS&R) team in the Law & Corporate Affairs Department to lead, implement and track strategic initiatives across the team. This role directly supports the GS&R vp on leading strategic planning and key programs, offering insight and thought partnership. The individual functions as a liaison between multiple teams to drive initiatives forward against the enterprise strategies.
The key areas of focus will include:
Supporting the development and implementation of the team’s strategic plan and program roadmap;
Providing decision-making support to senior leaders;
Working with program and project owners to develop, implement and monitor project metrics and milestones;
Bringing innovation and insights in the areas of risk sensing and risk management, to include industry-wide benchmarks and best practices;
Leading cross-functionally to identify organizational needs and communicate priorities;
Fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and continuous improvement;
Applying financial management and cost-effective approaches, including assessment of service providers and vendors as well as department programs and projects.
Leveraging your previous experience, we will enable you to:
Guide and Collaborate – Team with partners within Global Security and across the organization to understand enterprise-wide goals and objectives and articulate how Global Security programs/projects support and advance these goals. Provide guidance to project and program owners on best practices to create buy-in and bring partners along.
Manage – Orchestrate the Rhythm of the Business in GS&R, creating mechanisms and bringing leaders together to help accelerate operational progress - ensuring execution of functional & team priorities. Communicate business goals and strategic priorities and monitor project and program metrics, milestones and budget.
Communication – Develop oral, written and visual content for GS&R communications illustrating key business issues, new insights and recommendations. Hold GS&R leadership accountable to team questions & recommendations. Communicate learnings and insights across GS&R, cross-functional partners, and project sponsors to ensure forward progress.
Influence & Lead - Serve as a trusted advisor, partnering to shape our culture, people investments and strategic initiatives. Build meaningful relationships to influence outcomes and results.
We’d love to hear from people with:
Six+ years of relevant experience in project and program management, to include financial reporting
Four+ years leading project teams and working with cross-functional groups
Experience guiding teams in complex research and business decisions through rigorous, insightful analysis and influential communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to deeply understand ambiguous concepts and be able to tie together into broader strategic vision, thinking bold and ambitiously
Experience in security and/or risk assessment and mitigation
Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment, simplifying strategic and complex business activity into action
Demonstrated experience in being resourceful, self-driven, with the ability to partner, execute, and lead through influence and collaboration
A passion for operational excellence, and want the opportunity to drive significant impact by making the whole of our team great
Excellent writing and presentation skills, to include creation of PowerPoint briefing decks and writing executive level communications, including project and business cases briefs
