Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

The Strategy Consultant will serve as a member of the CIB CRM team, which includes the CIB Banking Salesforce platform and the Sales & Trading CRMs. These teams are responsible for driving and implementing the strategic direction of these two CRM platforms as well as implementing ongoing enhancements to increase our ability to service clients, control operational risk, and drive management insights. Primary responsibilities include (i) collaborating with business users and technology to identify, document, and launch enhancements to Salesforce to support the needs of Corporate & Investment Banking; (ii) serving as a liaison between business users and Technology to develop business requirements and workflows and ensure a smooth technology launch; and (iii) driving the implementation of tactical and strategic projects focused on enhancing banker productivity, operational efficiency and data quality improvement within Salesforce. Secondary responsibilities will include developing communications with business and technology users on the roll-out of enhancements to key CIB business tools and interfacing with users of the business tools.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cross-team coordination of business and technical resources to ensure successful project and enhancement delivery
Work with business leadership to understand business process requirements and translate requirements into a technology and process design in Salesforce
Participate and oversee User Acceptance Testing related to efforts as needed
Manage, prioritize and lead a complement of diverse tactical projects with emphasis on banker productivity and workflow, data management and integrity, and overall business process improvement
Perform ad-hoc data analysis as needed to support project activity. Work closely with other CIB COO Team members to gather business requirements and data metrics to support efforts
Effectively communicate with business partners as it relates to project progress, health and status
Document processes and business requirements as well as articulate impacts to existing business processes
Develop best practice project principles and metrics
Establish and maintain strong relationships with business and technology partners
Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business units risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

This position will be based in Charlotte or New York.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of strategic planning experience

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge and understanding of CRM projects, tools, and systems
Knowledge and understanding of Salesforce
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Strong presentation skills

Other Desired Qualifications
Experience in financial services, corporate & investment banking or capital markets
5+ years prior experience in a strategic planning or consultative role
3+ years prior experience in leading small or medium complexity projects; complex or large scale project participation
Experience with matrix managed teams
Experience documenting processes, operational workflows
Workflow optimization experience
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools, Oracle BI or 3rd party investment banking data analysis tools
Ability to interact and build relationships with senior leaders, peers and key support partners
SQL or business data warehouse experience

Job Expectations

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
