Design and build high-speed pulsed driver circuits for high frequency (up to several GHz), high current (1-20 A), and short pulse width (~1-100 ns)
Design verification testing (DVT) and characterization (LIV, high-speed / pulse testing, WL, far field, beam quality) of high-power and high-speed semiconductor lasers (edge emitter and VCSEL devices)
Define laser performance specification limits
Support design and implementation of test equipment in R&D environment needed to perform DVT characterization tests, including RF / high speed pulse circuit design, software/hardware integration, automation
Understand capabilities/limitations of characterization equipment (e.g., power, spectral, beam profile, thermal measurements) by GR&R and calibration methods
Transfer to offshore manufacturing, test methods/calibrations, data analysis, and specification validation
Document and present characterization results
Must have experience designing and building high speed pulse driver circuits for high frequency (up to several GHz), high current (1-20A), and short pulse width (~1-100 ns) or extensive experience working with such circuits.
5+ years hands-on experience in pulse driver circuit design required
Strong analytic and data analysis skills via Excel, Minitab and/or JMP is a plus
Experience in PCB layout is desirable
Impedance matching / transmission line experience is a plus
Experience with signal integrity / power integrity / high frequency design
Experience with Spice, HFSS, CST simulation tools is a plus
Familiarity with DOE, SPC, DFX, GR&R and GR-468-CORE qualification a plus
BS degree with 10 years in electrical, optical or physical engineering. Experienced designer with Ph.D. in EE preferred.
