The primary purpose of the Research Assistant I position is to provide technical assistance in carrying out projects related to C. elegans genetics and microscopy.
- Conducts C. elegans genetics experiments and carries out research projects in areas of molecular biology, genetics, and cell biology.
- Constructs, assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment.
- Records and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested.
- Actively researches the literature, and confers with both those in the laboratory and outside of the laboratory regarding the use of effective procedures and relevant knowledge. Modifies experiments and project focus according to project and laboratory needs.
- Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences. No experience.
