VP, Membership and Volunteer Engagement

ASIS International, a professional membership organization located in Alexandria, VA with 34,000 global members seeks a dynamic leader to serve as its Vice President, Membership and Volunteer Engagement.

This position has primary leadership and management responsibilities for all aspects of membership services, membership recruitment and membership retention. This includes but is not limited to planning, directing, coordinating and administering membership recruitment and retention plans (in collaboration with the marketing and communications team), membership database integrity and reporting.

The Vice President, Membership and Volunteer Engagement oversees strategies and operations relating to the association’s 230+ chapters and regions, and 34+ subject matter expert councils; serves as primary liaison to the senior volunteer leaders for chapters and regions and provides back-up to the Chief Global Member Engagement Officer to liaison with regional boards and committees.

Successful candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree and preferably at least 10+ years of progressive association and/or membership experience with at least three years in a management capacity.

Advanced education beyond bachelor’s degree and/or CAE designation is highly desired. Strong preference for individuals with specific experience working within and/or managing a membership department. Experience serving as liaison to internal and external groups. Exposure and/or experience to marketing principles and tactics, particularly within an association environment. Understanding of the security field a plus.

We're looking for an individual with strong communication skills, and highly developed interpersonal skills - able to interact at all levels of the organization and provide high-level customer service. Must be a good problem solver and facilitator with excellent analytical skills, strong team building and group facilitation skills, and advanced conflict resolution skills.

Successful candidates will have significant knowledge and experience using CRM or comparable association management systems. Prefer experience using NetForum and Higher Logic. Must also possess an intermediate working knowledge of MS office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
