Facebook seeks a motivated and experienced team player to serve as Associate General Counsel for Facebook Reality Labs, where world-class scientists and engineers are developing breakthrough technologies in augmented reality and virtual reality. This position will focus on shaping legal strategies and providing tactical legal counseling to various AR research and development teams on the AR software ecosystem and new applications of AR.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzing complex and global IP, privacy and other regulatory issues related to AR/VR to develop legal strategies for the design and development of AR software products and services
Influencing and driving strategies across multiple teams
Effectively counseling executives on complex, multifaceted legal issues
Overseeing complex technology transactions, including IP licensing, partnership agreements and other commercial agreements related to AR/VR software systems and services
Influencing and building relationships with executives, product teams and peers across Oculus and Facebook
Collaborating with subject matter experts at Oculus and Facebook to analyze and communicate legal risks
Managing attorneys working in this area
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least 1 state bar
8+ years legal experience with law firms and/or in-house experience with technology companies
Experience with software systems and licensing models
Experience with privacy, and other regulatory and compliance issues affecting emerging software products and applications
Experience in building influence with tech executives
Managerial experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with consumer hardware research and development
Experience with human subjects research, health and medical regulatory issues
