Reporting to the Vice President, Major Gifts and Foundation Giving, the Development Assistant is responsible for assisting the Vice President with the implementation of development activities for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. The Associate works closely with the Vice President, as well as other members of the department to manage the administrative duties necessary to raise funds for the success of the Museum. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with office technology, well-organized, and will take initiative to seek creative solutions that help the department achieve its goals.

PowerPoint, and experience with database management – Tessitura preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written
and verbal. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to handle donors’ information with
respect and confidentiality.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide administrative support to the Vice
President, Major Gifts & Foundation Giving, such as answering the phone,
maintaining the calendar, scheduling meetings with current and prospective
donors, and other projects as assigned.
  • Maintain
the accuracy and integrity of databases by ensuring that all information is
kept current and up to date.
  • Create
and maintain database reports and records as needed.
  • Provide
support to various staff and volunteers as part of fundraising campaigns and

with creation and finalization of guests lists and mailing lists.
  • Assist
with mailings by developing distribution timeline, crafting letters, and assisting
with follow up as needed.

Director of Individual Giving and Foundation Giving Manager with projects as

Required Knowledge,

Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products; experience
with database management preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and work
gracefully under pressure
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including
evenings and weekends
  • Represents self professionally when communicating
with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this position, the
employee will be required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
while performing computer related activities. The employee will frequently
communicate on the telephone. Additionally, there may be occasional light
lifting of boxes and other materials of 20 lbs. or less. Reasonable
