This role will lead the effort to work with other functional teams (especially Sales) to develop and implement processes, controls and insight for customer incentives. The main focus will be effective management and administration - with an emphasis on ensuring compliance to legal agreements. This individual will partner with others across the organization to lower rebates as a percentage of sales.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
30% - In collaboration with other stakeholder departments, develop and implement process/controls to define (executable) customer rebates. Develop processes and policies designed to more effectively manage all other types of rebates. Ensure that adequate controls are put in place to correctly define, model and approve (impactful) rebates.
20% - Develop and deliver reporting/insight that will be effectively shared with Senior Leadership to help them understand rebate activity and trends. Escalate issues that represent a threat to profitability or the brand.
20% - Hire, train, coach and mentor a team of analysts that are responsible for correct administration and management of customer rebates. Hold the team (and yourself) accountable for execution.
20% - Direct and coordinate (along with stakeholder teams) the activities of the Rebates team to ensure that rebates are paid to customers in a timely fashion, with adequate supporting paperwork - and that the teams execution is audit-ready.
10% - Innovate and identify opportunities for process improvement and/or increased customer satisfaction.
NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to the Vice President, Pricing and Strategy. This position has 1 - 6 direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 5 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Experience in working with or supporting a Sales Team
Experience in either a Pricing or Finance function/role
Bachelors degree with a concentration in business or finance
Experience with SQL and Relational Databases
Experience in a B2B Distribution environment
Experience in an organization with 250M+ in revenue
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
Advanced MS Office skills
Presentation skills and proven ability to discuss business issues
Ability to read, interpret, discuss and edit legal contracts as they relate to customer rebates
