TED is looking for a Learning Coordinator to help develop community support content, learning resources, and curricula for the TEDx community. Our goal is to facilitate prospective and current TEDx organizers with opportunities to acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. The ideal candidate should have experience in writing content, digital pedagogy and curriculum development, and must be inspired by TED's mission. The candidate should be analytical, creative, and possess exceptional organizational skills. Prior experience in working with a global community is a must.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the TEDx Community Engagement and Learning team in both in-person and online activations; including but not limited to: events, workshops, and presentations; and online hangouts, online classes, digital course development, and content development
Identifying educational needs and developing instructional goals for the TEDx global community
Helping create an online learning curriculum for TEDx organizers to learn the rules, creative possibilities, and spirit of organizing a TEDx event
Designing engaging, collaborative learning activities and compelling course content to maximize participation
Researching and proposing the criteria used to judge community performance and develop assessment instruments
Helping develop and deploy a pre-application video and quiz for applicants
Designing media and standardized presentations for TED staff and/or TEDx community to use at in-person regional workshops and/or within teams
Collaborating on an audit of TEDx resources to ensure accessibility, navigability, and clarity
Collaborating on a customer service platform re-design to ensure accessibility of resources and information
Writing, editing, and organizing support content for the TEDx community
Helping maintain and organize TEDx Community Team internal resources and documentation
Provide project support to TEDx team as required
3+ years experience in education
Highly effective and empathetic communicator
Ability to write clear, concise copy, including emails, instructional text, and audio scripts/video scripts
Experience developing an online and offline curriculum; dedicated to creative teaching methodologies
Fluency in Google apps and Microsoft Office
Strong familiarity with Keynote/Powerpoint presentation software
Experience providing accessibility to a community is a plus
Fluency in a language other than English is a plus
