The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a Pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Assistant Professro level. Duties will include supervising and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students in the clinic and operating room as well as direct patient care. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in research projects, give didactic lectures, and serve on departmental/college/university committees. Academic rank beyond that of Assistant Professor will commensurate with education and experience.
Supervision, lecturing and mentoring of residents, fellows and medical students in both the clinical and operating room setting. Participate in call coverage for residents.
See patients at USF Eye Institute, TGH and Moffitt. Perform pediatric surgery. Provide call coverage as appropriate with exisitng faculty. Perform ROP exams in NICU.
Professional development, as well as public services including, but not limited to, serving on designated departmental, collegial and university committees.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in research projects, give didactic lectures, and serve on departmental/college/university committees.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Board Certification/eligibility in Ophthalmology, a one year Pediatric Fellowship or equivalent experience, and ability to obtain a Florida medical license are prerequisities.
Candidates must have a current medical license or be eligible for an unrestricted full medical license in the state of Florida. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
