We are looking for a Circulator/OR RN to join our team at a busy multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center in NYC! We are primarily interested in candidates looking for full time work and ideally someone with at least 1 years of experience working in the OR. This opportunity offers a break from the rough schedule and hustle of hospital settings and is perfect for someone looking for a more personalized care experience and for exposure to new specialties.
Essential Duties:
- Creating a safe, therapeutic environment in which the patient's psychological, physiological, and physical needs are identified, anticipated, and met.
- Working with other nursing and materials staff to ensure all equipment, inventory, and supplies are properly prepared for each case.
- Exhibiting a high quality of work in regards to documentation of information in the patient chart, preference cards, incident reports, etc.
- Coordinating activities within the OR to provide for non-eventful, safe, effective, and timely surgical intervention.
- Directing and assisting the Surgical Technician through the surgical procedure and with the surgical count.
- Properly handling and identifying all specimens.
- Assisting with dressings as needed.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ASN required. BSN preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing process and nursing theory.
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Current New York Registered Nurse license.
- At least 2 years of experience as an operating room nurse preferred.
- Prior experience working in ambulatory surgery centers preferred.
- Prior experience working with the following specialties preferred: Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Orthopedics, General, OBGYN, and GI.
