Assoc BIT System Administrator
This server/networking professional provides maintenance, installation and support for Unix, Linux and Mac OS X based servers & networks used by the local offices/bureaus.
May monitor and maintain data, voice, and LAN infrastructure, and act as an auxiliary production support professional for a 24x7x365 news production environment.
Demonstrate skills and experience providing technical support in a networked computing environment is required, as well as basic familiarity with broadcast production systems.
Position may include some designing, coding, testing, implementation, and support of custom software applications for the local bureau/office.
To have the ability to troubleshoot production issues that impact our on-air environment.
This person should have the ability to coordinate support activities among all impacted teams. And communicates production status to customers.
Demonstrate knowledge of Unix/Linux Systems Administration
Experience with Redhat / CentOS / Debian Solid Scripting skills in PERL or UNIX shell variants.
Demonstrated expierence of standard networking protocols, computing operating systems, & LAN/WAN topology.
Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP Networking Concepts (DNS, DHCP, etc.).
Experience with web servers such as Apache and Iplanet preferred
Demonstrated fluency with NFS, SMB, and FTP file services
Demonstrated knowledge of the elements of the LAMP stack
Provide 24 x 7 On-Call Support and Remote Troubleshooting
Excellent communication skills
Ability to learn new skills quickly
Strong troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server + and Advanced Server, OSX, Snow Leopard, Microsoft Exchange email system software, and UNIX
Demonstrated knowledge of the elements of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PERL/PHP/Python).
