Community Relations Specialist

This is a temporary position for Raytheon for an undetermined length

Responsible for the planning and execution of effective Community Relations activities and events in support of the company’s business goals. The Community Relations Specialist is responsible for helping drive integrated marketing and strategic community relations programs for Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, a seven billion dollar business. The successful candidate will understand the role of community relations in supporting brand reputation and additional responsibilities to include:

Design and implementation of Community Relations Integrated Campaigns
Collaborate with other communications functions to ensure an integrated communications approach to build reputation and awareness
Coordination of community relations representatives from different IIS sites across the country
Management of content creation for Raytheon IIS Community Relations presence on internal and external platforms
Must be willing and able to attend events during evening hours and weekends when necessary

Experience desired in defense or other high technology industries where scientific discovery and innovative engineering lead to competitive advantage.

Required qualifications:
At least 6 years of direct Community Relations and some Public Relations experience
Proven success in Community Relations outreach efforts
Demonstrated expertise writing for web and print environments. Experience developingpress releases, fact sheets and media advisories
Proven experience interfacing with customer constituencies that result in development and execution of successful external communications
Experience working in a direct as well as a dotted-line relationship
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers, Community Relations employees across the company, and with Raytheon leadership
Demonstrated experience working effectively with people at all levels across the organization
Proven program management skills
Prior experience creating, implementing, and presenting project plans
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software and internet navigation
Excellent writing and speaking skills
Must be able and willing to work and travel nights and weekends

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Prior experience with integrated, multi-channel communications campaigns, including proactive media engagement, social media, and employee engagement
Prior experience leading community relations campaigns

Required Education (including degree):
Bachelors or equivalent degree in communications, marketing or related field.
