As a part of Asante's Quality and Patient Safety team, you will be instrumental in sustaining the improvements made, and ensuring continued progress towards better patient outcomes. Infection Prevention contributes system-wide to preventing patient harm, improving care, and functioning as a resource.

What You'll Do

Perform the infection prevention and control functions of surveillance, data collection, analysis of data, dissemination of results, education, policy development and consultation

Monitor compliance with mandates of accrediting and regulatory agencies related to practices associated with the prevention and control of healthcare associated infections

Function independently and/or in collaboration with leadership

Recognize and isolate outbreaks of infectious diseases in healthcare settings

You are comfortable speaking in public, giving direction, educating both patients and hospital staff

You have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and interact with physicians, staff, patient and visitors

What You Must Have

Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing or applicable degree in related field (e.g. Public Health, Epidemiology, Microbiology) with experience in infection control

A minimum of one year infection control experience or 3 years of acute care experience

Certification Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) preferred

Acute care infection control experience and/or experience in communication and adult education preferred
