About the Position
Grace seeks an experienced school nurse to serve students in grades 9-12 the grades. Our nurses play a key role in the development, maintenance and implementation of the school health policies and, in partnership with school administrators, promote the health and well-being of our student body and school community.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Promote and protect the health and wellbeing of students and employees

Review and retain annual health forms for each student; Update student files as needed

Maintain and interpret cumulative health data to accommodate the individual needs of students

Help to manage attendance, receiving and recording information about student absences.

Provide daily drop-in health service, Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm

Interpret the health status of students to parents and school personnel

Initiate referrals to parents, school personnel and community health resources for intervention, remediation, and follow-up

Provide ongoing health counseling with students, parents, school personnel and outside health agencies

Use onsite health resources to provide appropriate care for students

Maintain appropriate supplies and equipment for the school health needs
This position follows the school calendar and vacations
Qualifications

R.N. or Advanced Nursing Degree
-
Registered Nurse in New York State (Current Licensure)

Currently BLS Provider certified
-
Outstanding professional integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Excellent organizational skills, including accuracy in multi-tasking situations.

Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with students, parents, and colleagues.

Ability to use software, like Blackbaud, or spreadsheets to log information.

Must be committed to the school’s mission of centering students' mental health needs.

Experience as a School Nurse is preferred, ER or ICU experience also valuable

Experience with helping students manage chronic conditions is a plus
Compensation
This is a full-time staff position with an expected base salary of $68,000–$155,040 commensurate with education and experience on the staff salary scale.
