Job Impact and Scope Summary
As an Institutional Marketing Associate on the Publishing Team, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and iterating on the multibrand school and library sales and marketing strategy for Kaplan Publishing. As part of your responsibilities, you will be the primary point of contact for Simon & Schuster school & library account managers and manage the distribution of print and digital review copies for educators. Successful candidates will be analytical, strategic, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and enthusiastic. This role reports to the Senior Director of Sales & Marketing, Publishing.
Develop and optimize multibrand school and library sales and marketing strategy, working directly or in partnership with other teams to deliver results.
Develop volume discount and other relevant policies related to institutional sales, including policies related to proprietary and co-branded offerings. Provide analysis and recommendations related to requests for special terms.
Oversee development and leveraging of targeted email lists to announce new editions and relevant publications to educators, schools, and relevant accounts
Market and support Barronsregents.com, and provide product team with user feedback.
Develop and implement market research projects to ensure continuous improvement to school and library programs
Develop and propose annual budget and monthly forecasts for school and library channels.
Coordinate presence at education conferences, and manage follow up
Coordinate marketing efforts with Simon & Schuster’s school & library marketing team
Work with KTP General Counsel to develop institutional agreements, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance (e.g. digital access for schools)
Support sales teams with FAQs and product updates relevant to teacher, school, and education account queries
Provide product feedback to editorial teams
3 years in a publishing, education, or media environment managing projects
Copyediting and proofreading skills
Ability to move multiple projects forward by working across functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders
Ability to transition between many varied tasks over the course of a day
Focused and strong written and verbal communication
Positive can-do attitude, interested in working collaboratively with high-performing, onsite and remote teams
Strong follow-up skills are required to excel in this position.
Strong working knowledge of Google Docs, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint
