Transportation Dept.: Central
Position: Training Specialist
Full time: 1.0 FTE
Traditional 235 work days per year
Salary Range: $25.31-30.37
Essential Functions and Objectives:
Development, Implement and instruct curriculum for training drivers, bus paraprofessionals, train-the-trainer programs for all internal trainers and DPS staff.
Management and monitoring of the training program, using the Versa-Trans Routing software. Responsible for the creating evaluations for the training program to measure effectiveness, state compliance, best practices and new delivery alternatives. Prepare and assist with reports. Conduct various hands-on training. Facilitate with interviewing and selection of drivers and paraprofessionals. Prepare the classroom environment for training by ensuring equipment, materials, and resources are available and serviceable. Maintains current knowledge of District policies and procedures and Colorado Department of Education Regulations.
Collaborates with department personnel to develop and implement department training and procedures
Ability to obtain cdl and drive school buses.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or an asso
Must have or acquire a valid Colorado commercial driver's license (CDL) with P2 and S endorsements prior to offcial start date.
Will commensurate work experience. Minimum of two years documented experience in creating, developing, writing and formatting training material and conducting training in a corporate or vocational environment. In addition, have knowledge of performance improvement approaches.
Must have a career background in training and instructional design experience, which includes cultural communication and awareness, soft-skills and preferably trade-related development.
Highly skilled and experienced in on-line course development.
Transportation knowledge and experience associated with varied types of transportation vehicles. Buses A, B, C or, D preferred. Bilingual preferred.
