The ISO-Immersion Program Coordinator will plan, organize, and coordinate arrangements for Isolated (Iso) Immersion training courses which are defined as “an isolated, informal environment, where students are expected to converse solely in the target language on a wide range of topics, to utilize foreign media, and to participate in role-playing exercises relating to daily life experiences” in accordance with the latest ADET Instructions. He/she will research possible locations and excursions and provide recommendations to the Government for iso immersion courses lasting from three days to six weeks at Contractor-provided off-site locations in the United States. As needed, he/she will arrange trips to locations where ethnic groups who speak the target language reside, or provide an environment where students are isolated from English speakers and immersed in the culture and target language of the people and/or country being studied.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In response to customer requirements, research and recommend to the Government the best resources and locations for providing iso immersion training courses;
Make arrangements for iso immersion courses, including: Coordinating with Government training managers, students, Agency Security; and, negotiate for housing and to set up excursions; coordinate travel with students;
Accompany students and instructors to facilitate iso immersion course and handle onsite administrative details;
Collect, analyze and provide the Government student feedback on courses, in order to identify possible areas requiring change/improvement (content, instructors, and delivery methodologies);
Collect and provide the Government instructor feedback about the students and course content, in order to identify possible areas requiring change/improvement (content and delivery techniques);
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A.A. Degree in Language, Language-related, International Studies, Education, Area Studies, Business, or Management;
Five years experience working in a multi-cultural environment to include working with a mix of military and Government civilian personnel, and individuals whose native language is not English;
In lieu of the AA, two additional years of directly related, applied, practical experience for a total of seven years experience may be substituted;
Three years experience working in a language-focused work/training environment, with primary duties including: managing, coordinating, and delivering language training opportunities (to include travel) for adult learners and documenting the quality of that language instruction;
Foreign language skill of Listening 2/Reading 2 or higher, as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable, documented within the last ten years;
Three years experience drafting and following standard operating procedures and checklists, and communicating with colleagues and customers via written correspondence;
Three years experience in any of the following: SIGINT, military intelligence, the Intelligence Community Operations.
Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
