2nd Shift Production Associate:
Hours: 3pm to 11pm, Monday - Friday
Pay: $15.50/hr
Primary Function:
To process dry blended raw material according to a prescribed formulation and prepare samples for evaluation by the Laboratory.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Legible Handwriting
· Basic Math
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
· Frequent walking and long periods of standing
· Must be able to climb vertical ladder
· Must be able to kneel, crouch, reach overhead, push and pull equipment
· Must be able to work in a dusty environment while wearing a mask
Duties and Responsibilities:
For Pre-Mix:
- Obtain correct batch sheet as indicated on scheduling board – scan list of raw materials for possible shortages
- Select appropriate sized bowl, materials and equipment needed to blend mix
- Weighs each ingredient – check off each raw material as it is added to the bowl
- Moves bowl to mixer and mixes material
- Labels sampling poly bag and scoops appropriate sample of material into bag and give it to the lab for evaluation – make adjustments to blends as indicated by notations on batch sheet by lab personnel.
- Cleans mixer head and blade in preparation for next batch – always clean equipment throughout process
For Extruder:
- Draws sample of material after batch has passed Pre-mix and extrudes it into chip form
- Catches chip samples off the chilled roll assembly, places into properly labeled poly bag and presents to lab for evaluation
- Transport mixing bowl to extrude load station on third floor using elevator upon batch approval
- Prepares for mixing by opening mix bowl valve carefully, allowing material to flow into mass flow feeder on the extruder
- Checks that chip bin is in place under lower chute – process the order into chips
- Completes Order Tracking Sheet
For Milling:
- Mill batch in accordance with customer required specs
- Cleans mill area that will contact the production sample. Hand feeds small amount of chips into feed tray
- Obtain box labels and check information against Order Tracking Sheet.
- Sets up sieve arrangement with proper mesh size and adjusts the mill equipment parameters for milling to comply with Laboratory instructions and gather samples and send to lab.
