Position Overview
As a physician, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of up to 8 nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. You will also provide direct telehealth consultations for new and established patients, support the interdisciplinary care team, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. This is a full-time role with 40-hours/week.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and provide clinical leadership to a team of 8 NPs and PAs, offering guidance on best practices in weight management and patient care, as well as signing collaborative agreements.
Conduct 12-24 telehealth visits daily with patients seeking weight loss solutions.
Collaborate with registered dietitians and interdisciplinary teams through regular care coordination meetings.
Address patient inquiries via chat, providing guidance and support on their weight loss journey.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all communications and data handling.
Advocate for the best clinical outcomes, demonstrating genuine care for individuals seeking weight loss solutions.
Oversee the proper administration of weight loss medications, including injectables like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro.
Lead and mentor NPs and PAs to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
Board-certified physician with a valid medical license (California licensure required; additional licensure in Texas, Florida, and New York preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of post-residency clinical experience, with a strong preference for primary care or weight management experience.
Proven experience in weight management, including the use of injectable weight loss medications.
Experience managing or supervising nurse practitioners and physician assistants is highly desirable.
Comfortable with telemedicine software, EHRs, and other digital tools for remote care.
Exceptional communication skills, including compassionate, empathetic care for patients.
Ability to work independently from home, with a quiet space and high-speed internet.
Must pass a background check and be eligible for Medicare enrollment.
Preferred Qualifications
Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred to expand care for the Spanish-speaking patient population.
Prior experience with compounded weight loss medications is a plus, but not required.
